hey guys just wondering does any one know the way to fix my problem got my new dash in looks awesome! only thing is when i turn the car on the battery light turns on and satys on, my tacho doesn't work, my speedo doesn't work, 4wd light, high beam, temp and fuel guage all dont work. so basically battery light turns on stays on and indicators work and the backing lights work. i read on another forum that a guy swapped the backing off his nt speedo to his wt one with very minor mods would this fix my prolem? also if any one has a picture of there engine bay where the reverse lights plug and and to which plug would be great.

Sound's good, did you change the harness with the dash or just dash..

i swapped the harness over but the plugs are different so i swapped the original harness back in, i have the engine loom for the new dashes loom to but the only problem is that the previous owner slaughted the loom by cutting and joining wires. all the wires that run to the fuel tank and through the gear box tunnel have all been cut and joined, so i dont even know where the reverse light plugs into. if i can get hold of the wiring that runs through the tunnel i may just swap everything over and have a fresh new loom that's not been cut and joined.

Jas might have a lwb loom, it wont be WT though.

Speedo is only cable driven so it shouldnt have anything to do with wiring.

i was thinking of pulling it out of the transfer and put it back in and see if it fixes it should there be play in the cable?? and would it matter if it was wt or nt if its only the cable running through the tunnel?

the reason this happens is because the plugs that go into the back of the WT cluster have different pinouts. You need to remove the backing of the NT cluster and place it on the back of the WT cluster. I speak from experience with the exact same problem.

ok cheers guys i will remove the backing and replace it today with my nt backing, hopefully will be all better again :D fingers crossed. still wouldnt mind getting hold of a nt wiring loom so that all my wires are newer and not cut and joined all over the shop. or a wt wiring loom that runs through the tunnel of the car

wiring goes down to the fuel tank/tail lights etc, i chopped it at the top of the firewall, it is identical to the NT wiring loom from that point backwards. ABC auto oxley quoted me $50 for dash and loom but i ended up getting one for free so it should still b there.

yeh i wouldnt mind just re doing the tunnel loom though just for peice of mine as he has modified the taillights in it to so not sure and my fuel guage never worked properly when i first bought the car so who knows i have a whole wiring set up for a wt in the garage just no tunnel loom. i think ill just swap the backs of the speedos and see what happens and then go from there. unless i can get hold of flaxton and hopefully he has the tunnel loom.

i think where it goes through the fire wall is also different from wt to nt just get a wt harness and extend the tunnel wires thats all i did. The brake booster is a different plug also
