I don`t think you should, the loss of vision is huge. The cop`s or DOT would get you for it.

I wanted to put a volt guage next to it. I knocked it up at work out of scrap so i didnt have the car to test fit it. Trial and error i might try for a center console instead hmmmm

that is the same UHF that i have. if ya toss the ash tray away they
fit really well in the hole.

i just made a roof shelf the other day for my ute, wrapped it in marine carpet and fitted it up. looks a treat, i have got a uhf radio fitted to it and a pair of 6" speakers also.
cost me nothing really, made it out of stuff i had laying around, yesterday when i was out i had a group of people in seirra's cheacking it out.
so thats your best bet mate, ill try to put a picture up
