So I e decided to fit a M18A into my LWB I’ve done a bit of research and it looks doable with a non vvt jimny box using the Sierra extension housing and shifter.
Also picked up a vvt M13A for all the bolt on’s to make it work in the Sierra, for engine mounts you use the jimny mounts from the block either the Sierra mounts for the chassis side.
To bolt it in is the easy part.
Wiring and computer will be a different story ideally I’d like to use the liana wiring and computer but don’t want to use the cambus and immobiliser maybe after market computer is the go.
Or I could convert it to non vvt and run a m16a computer and harness.

Dose anyone have any ideas on which way to go with it?

The m series swaps ive seen in sierras have all had the m series key and barrel up under the dash to make the whole shebang work.
I dont think its possible to run factory ecu and eliminate this issue

Check the rigs section. Tanked is doing a M swap to his Sierra. I think he has gone standalone ECU now.

Yeah did m15a swap into mine, was a nightmare at times but hey where is the fun if it was easy, did a full standalone ecu have a haltech 550 elite in there to run it. Just doing all the final touches to it at the moment to get it mod plated then be done.

I would be wary personally of a m18 i think the tourque would start to break things at that level esp if you have reduction gears in transfer case. Just my 2c

I’ve been running the M18A in my jimny now for 2 years with a Sierra transfer and 4.9 gears nothing broken yet
