Hey doods. What grease to use in the swivel hub rebuild? Obviously high temp bearing grease in the wheel; bearings, but what about the swivel hub and kingpin bearings
Service manual says "Super Grease A" for the kingpins and "Super Grease H" for the CVs. A seems to translate to the high temp bearing grease, any idea what H is? Also, looking at the diagrams I can't see how you could avoid the grease from the kingpin bearings and the CV from mixing as there is no seal? What have you guys used?
You can't avoid the kingpin grease mixing with the CV grease to some extent.
Use Lithium Disulphide grease for CV's, something like Castrol LMM or equivalent, which is specified for "extreme pressure applications such as automotive ball joints, constant velocity joints and earthmoving links and pins"
It would't hurt in the slightest if you used that in the kingpins.
