So I've got a 1.0ltr (no 4WD light) transfer case, 1.0ltr cluster and a non working speedo.

From the dash end the cable feels to be attached to the gear in the transfer, it won't spin freely as if its engaged. The cable shaft can be pulled out and spun so its not seized.

Before I start stripping parts to find whats wrong I thought I'd ask the oracle that is Auszookers for anything common that might save me some time.

Try and remove the speedo drive from the transfer case. It's held in by a 6mm bolt and can be pulled out with some multi grips. It may be seized or missing teeth.

It could also be your gauge cluster that's not working. You could always go for a quick drive with the gauge cluster removed and see if the speedo cable is spinning.

These are two completely different systems and not related. The speedo is mechanical. The cable is broken or has come off at either end. It's unlikely the speedo drive has broken, they seem pretty reliable.

As for the temp gauge, it's most likely the wire has fallen off the sender on the inlet manifold under the thermostat. Suzuki use a push on terminal that's quite fragile. That's where I'd start.
