Hi Gang.

finally got my g16b baleno running in my sierra, the cars idling at 850rpm and sounds as healthy as it can with just headers on it. when i rev it the engine feels smooth and fine, but idle the engine shakes in the bay. all the engine mounts are tight. the IAC i think you call it is working if i unplug it the idle starts to creep up.
what other things should i be checking. the engine mounts are new. the temp gauge is working and the cars not over heating that i can see. maybe im just over reacting ? cleaned the maf as well no change.

Check the codes
You can bridge the terminals in the fuse box or use diagnostic plug

I took your advice Rocky and went around the whole loom looking for anything out of place, found one of the coil pack plugs has a broken wire. Once I repair that hopefully it should run ok 4 cylinders again. Strangely enough I was getting no check engine light on my dash for it.

Coilpack wont give you a check engine light, will generally flash a code when u bridge the ports on the fusebox.
Another thing to note is your sierra tacho wont read correctly unless you have the correct resistance diode in line or swap to a baleno taco in your instrument cluster.
Your 850 idle may in actual fact be 250

the guy that did my loom swapped everything from the baleno taco over over and added diode so that should all be sweet

UPDATE: fixed the coil pack wiring and the shake was still there and have later found that cylinder 3 is not firing at all. so going to compression test it tomorrow and based off the results if all is good look at injector being fucked and confirm spark at that cylinder. really hope its not low on that cylinder 3 because bye bye engine.

anyone got a baleno g16b motor for sale lol.

ended up finding a niod light and found that the injector was not getting a signal traced it back to the ecu and fixed it. now i got another annoying probem its idling at 1200 hot or cold.... it was idling at 850 when hot when running on 3 cylinders haha. i have confirmed that the iac is getting coolant to it iv i unplug the iac the maf and the TPS they all do strange shit with the idle so they are showing up as working. might have to check codes next god damn it. ill take the IAC out from the manifold on the weekend and see if its got any shit in it.

Normally swapping throttle body/iac assembly out for another fixes the prob. You can spend alot more on new components the a 2nd hand setup from wreckers

Did you not see/drive the motor before swapping it ?
Spending a bit more intitally on an engine you can drive or at least see driving can save a whole lotta drama

the donor had all flat tires and non existent brakes hooked up lol all i could do was start it and run it before pulling the motor it was all good before hand. so something making it ide higher then it should now that its in the sierra.

i feel so dumb  after a day or so of looking for vac leaks looking for coolant air locks cleaning the IAC it turned out there was indeed an idle scew that sits on the front of the throttle linkage that needed to be backed out a bit it now idles sweet at 850pm
