Hey guys I'm just looking to know what hoses you've used from the thermostat housing on the back of the head to the radiator. I'm wanting to go on the intake manifold side.

Also interested in knowing what's been done with air intake piping. Can I retain the factory airbox? I don't really want to buy the custom pipe from suzistore for $220.

Cheers

I thought there was a cheaper source for the factory Maruti inlet pipe (?) if you want to avoid replacing the airbox and/or running miles of cheesy convoluted piping, the maruti hose is the only way.

I can't comment on top radiator hose piping. The one I did was done in the most complicated possible fashion I wouldn't recommend.

It looks like the simplest way is going to be a mess of rubber hose chopped up with joiners unfortunately.

I’ll look into the Maruti pipe, cheers Steve.

U can relocate the baleno airbox to behind the headlight.
Or i believe you can get the pipe via megazip for $100 or less

Baleno air boxes (like jimny airboxes) aren’t suited for a vehicle which sees dirt.

Check disco's astro build thread.

Megazip link here

These pipes are excellent, however, there is one hole you will need to plug.
It may be an idea to order the mix of baleno/jimny and sierra heater and radiator hoses while you are it.

A jimny exhaust manifold is a lovely addition. I'm not impressed with aftermarket extractors.

Then either a jimny manifold or use the baleno manifold, with swift thermo stat cover, and the extra pipe and its a nice setup.

I dont like the jimny/vitara intake manifolds installed in sierras as they dont allow the coolant to flow through all the head very well, unless the heater tap is fully open.

I run a baleno g16b in my tintop, with the pipe from megazip, baleno intake manifold, and jimny exhaust manifold.
Stock gearing and 245/70R16 on GV alloys (not exactly my first choice, but I got the tyres for free)

I get a correct fuel consumption of 8/100 km.
The car is quiet, sits on the speed limit with ease, and has a lot of poke.

I think you’re onto something here. IIRC Vitaras don’t have a heater tap.

Fyi suzistore sell a pipe now that relocates the thermostat housing to where the jimny g13bb one is. Meaning you can do away with the swift housing and lengthy hoses.

Nah there made to order. Not advertised as yet but if you call brian at suzistore he will price one up. About $180 and saves alot of work. Looks like a factory peice.
The equivelent g13bb manifold to do away with the piping typically goes for between $400-800 in wa

So I used the top hose from a 5SGE camry and the bottom from a 3SGE camry, using the old baleno water pump outlet pipe as a joiner. It's as neat as I could get it we'll see how it goes.
