There's nothing there to indicate that it works (or doesn't work for that matter) - an Australian asked the question, and an American answered with his experience on the LHD vehicles for which the arm was designed.

Mind you - given the fact that Suzuki uses the same arm and mount on both LHD & RHD vehicles, I (like mikerpm) see no reason why it should not work.

"fordem", why did you make the following statement in a previous post????:

Looking at the design of the Calmini brace, I doubt that it would fit a right hand drive vehicle.

Let me make this suggestion - print a picture of the Calmini brace and then go outside and lie under your car - hold the picture so you can visualize where the brace fits, and more importantly, where it bolts to - and then slide over to the other side of the car and repeat the exercise - will the bolt holes line up?

Here's a hint - the brace is not symmetrical.

"Mikerpm4x4" also said the following at the following link or URL:

"The sky arm is all you would need. We have several Sky Idlers in use in our off road club. None have ever failed. Its a tough son of a b."

I think I'm missing the big picture here - what does mikerpm's comment on the Sky idler arm have to do with the Calmini brace being able to fit both RHD & LHD vehicles?

#1. It reinforces the statements of other people in this email thread that an extra brace is not needed with the Sky Extreme Duty Idler Arm.

Sky's Extreme Duty Trackick/Vitara Idler Arm:

#2. Also, if the vehicle doesn't have the same tab as the 1989-1994 2 Door Sidekick in the correct spot, then you'll have to weld one on.

Calmini's Idler Arm Brace for 1989-94 Sidekick 2DR ONLY:

#1 - Why would I want to pay $139 for an idler arm to achieve the same results that I could get with a $25 brace?

#2 - Go ahead, weld the tab on, and then see if the brace fits - I'm betting it won't.

Several people in this thread have already said that the Sky UHMW bushings are a lot better. Again, Sky says the following:

"What we did was take solid stock 1018 steel, machined to match the stock arm in critical dimensions. Next we machine it to fit massive UHMW bushings. UHMW is self lubricating as well to provide years of trouble free service. Then we enlarged the shaft itself followed by building a new much stronger mounting bracket."

I didn't say that it would fit, or even defend the Calmini brace. I only & merely said that it wouldn't fit without the tab. Also, again, why did you just say the following????:

"There's nothing there to indicate that it works (or doesn't work for that matter) - an Australian asked the question, and an American answered with his experience on the LHD vehicles for which the arm was designed. Mind you - given the fact that Suzuki uses the same arm and mount on both LHD & RHD vehicles, I (like mikerpm) see no reason why it should not work."

Work with me here - do I really need to spell this out?

This is where that started - it is the post immediately before mine, which is why I don't see the need to quote it.

NOTHING in the thread you linked to answers the "does it work on a right hand drive" vehicle question - as I said - an Australian asked the question, and an american answered based on experience with left hand drive vehicles...

You still haven't said why you said the following:

"Mind you - given the fact that Suzuki uses the same arm and mount on both LHD & RHD vehicles, I (like mikerpm) see no reason why it should not work."

Try reading it again - this time, whilst you read it think about what it says.

#1. I never claimed that the link or URL that I listed above answered the "does it work on a right hand drive" vehicle question!!!!

#2. However, you had made the following statement in regard to the Calmini brace BEFORE I posted the link or URL above!!!!:

"Looking at the design of the Calmini brace, I doubt that it would fit a right hand drive vehicle."

#3. AGAIN, considering that you had said that in regard to the Calmini brace BEFORE I posted the link or URL above, then why did you make the following statement AFTER I had posted the link or URL above????:

"Mind you - given the fact that Suzuki uses the same arm and mount on both LHD & RHD vehicles, I (like mikerpm) see no reason why it should not work."

Seems to me all you're doing is confusing yourself.

Go back and read the post above the one which you're querying - I make a point of only quoting posts where necessary, if my reply is going to immediately follow the post, there's no point in quoting it.

Read the posts in sequence - there's a progression - and if that doesn't help you, I can't.

I have the measurments of mine but being a SV & your's being a SE swb the chassis vastly different.

i'd click on one of RJ6's links to the sky arm & buy it after having both.
