Seeking some technical advice on an electrical problem with my 2001 Jinmy soft top.
Its fitted with a Suzuki remote central locking and immobilizer system which was an extra when purchased new I assume as there is a supplementary Suzuki booklet in with the original handbook.
The problem is that the electric windows set off the central locking whenever either window is wound fully up or fully down. If the doors are unlocked they will automatically lock when the windows come to rest in either direction.
Assuming that whatever triggers the window motors to stop working, when they encounter the top/bottom, is somehow triggering the central locking?
Possible related issue is that the immobilizer won't work occasionally. Sometimes the car won't start after unlocking the doors. Solution seems to be to lock/unlock the remote again then it starts up okay.
Any advice on which wiring or modules under the dash to check/replace would be appreciated.
Thanks for any feedback

Do you know the history of the car? The symtoms are similiar to those after being in floods.

Check the power & ground connections to the master control in the driver's door - the power window motors "stall" momentarily at end of travel and there is a brief period of high current draw and a resulting voltage drop - this is probably what's triggering the central locking system.

Thanks for the tips - don't know detailed history but spent the last few years on a property up in the Blue Mountains, although it was originally registered in Newcastle looking at the books. The inside doesn't look like its been submerged - original carpet and trim and no rust or damp smell so would probably rule out water ingress. I'll check out the earthing on the weekend when I have time to pull the door trim apart - any directions to a post with a wiring diagram for the power windows and locks? Did initially have a look at the fuses but didn't appear to be any marked on cover for power windows or locks, unless they have a separate fuse somewhere else?

But of a grave dig, but as for the Newcastle/Flooding part... If it was in Newcastle in 2007, this is a big possibility. Hope for your sake it isn't though :)
