as long as it has less than 200,000 it may need some TLC when u get it but it should still be reliable once u replace the worn out parts and will still cost a shit load less than a brand new car.
(buying a brand new car as a 2nd car that u will be lucky to drive once a week just sounds crazy to me)

I'd still say it seems like your money would be better spent on an old model GV. It looks like your offroad intentions might make it more sensible to start with the older model.

true but mentally I am still keen on a newer model. I did however do a brief carsales search and found that 08 models onwards, there's 2.7L petrol as well as 3.2L petrol??? also the MY13 auto is 4 speed where the older ones were auto with 5 speed??? what??? am I missing something?

In 2008 they did a model upgrade and made ESP and traction Control standard in the new models.

The new models came with a......
3.2 V6 and is available in a 5speed Auto,
2.4L 4cly with 4speed Auto or 5speed manual
1.9 Td 4cly with 5speed Manual only

The 3.2 V6 was discontinued in 2011 due to availability.

any signs of damage since you have higher than 35mm lift?

Not as yet but we don't use it very often offroad. The Ironman lift is quite stiff and doesn't flex a huge amount when wheeled unloaded.

If buying the current model id recomend a 2.4L Auto with a Dobinsons lift kit and 245/75/16 tyres. Gearing will suck a bit but the auto will soften this a bit offroad.

I just took delivery of a new GV Sport Manual, loving it so far. I'm after a Nudge Bar - will a 2012 build or earlier still fit mine? Reason I ask is that I have seen and heard that the 2013 build models are slightly different and pre-2013 build nudge bars don't fit. Can someone confirm thisplease?
