For some weird reason that makes no sence too me  My gear selector in a Auto 1995 Vitara is stuck in Park, drove it all day making well over 5 stop's with no problem's with the shifter, come home park her up on a slight uphill, an now it wont come out of park.. Has this happened too anyone before ? Or maybe someone could point me too a old post where this has happen.. I'm really boggled over this one any help would go a treat

Locked into gear with the uphill?
Pull really hard?
Failing that, jack the rear diff off the ground and try.

Yeah, I'd reef on it a bit harder. Your handbrake may not be working as well as it should

get some one to rock it/push it forwards so the parking pawl can onload while trying to shift it.

Failing that, jack the rear diff off the ground and try. Yeah we done this, had to jack the rear off the ground too roll the truck back in the end soo we could close the garage door lol an still its stuck in park

no i don't think so... there is a neutral start switch override.

just for the sake of simplicity take the cover off from the shifter and see if the detent pin is actually going all the way down when you push the button in.
The shifter from my donor vitara is a bit finicky like this which can make it a bit difficult to move from the park position, I think the nylon rod inside it has worn a bit.
