OK - Don't laugh!
I am in the final assembly process for a complete rebuild of my G16A carby 8V. It's on the engine stand with every moving component being replaced - now a thumping 1650 (ish) cc! Extractors ported and polished! - I reckon will be good for a tree stump pulling 65kw!!!
Check out the photo! - -
MY PROBLEM! (and lesson to others) - I relied on my Haynes Manual to illustrate where all those bloody vacuum hoses go! - WRONG! It gives no real indication.... So here I am with a beautifully assembled G16A, and lots of hoses and lots of sleeves where hoses could go, but no freaking idea what goes with what!....
Could someone (or many), just take random photos of the carby side of the engine showing hose locations and post them here???? it would be really appreciated.
Cheers
Keith

I tried mate, but they do not show much because of the air cleaner / filter. Do you want em anyways?

Doing the full rebuild myself - except machining the block. Needed a new (second hand) crank - has new pistons, rings, valves, all bearings, every seal, 'O' ring and gasket, every bolt and nut is new high tensile (not that it needed them, but they are shiny!), new belts and hoses new cam cover, plugs, leads, port, polish, every bracket inc head and sump have been stripped to bare metal and epoxy painted (rust and heat proof). New mounts, clutch, machined flywheel, dizzy internals, head has been stripped, polished and measured and some cam work. New alt & starter, Fuel Pump. I've prob missed something... That’s just the engine! - Wait for the list for the car....!
Total spent on motor inc machining is still well under $2K !
Just wish I new where the bloody hoses go!!!!!!!!!!!! Should have slotted a couple of Weber DCOE 40's on the side! Reckon I could have found some rubber inlet manifolds to fit! - Project for another motor! ...

Ha ! - I was actually pretty good in that I put all little things in zip lock bags, all labled and sorted - just when it came to the vacuum hoses I got carries away pulling them off .... But yes - next time I will photograph and mark .... hang on next time? - I need to get over this one first.....

i also see you have a/c , there should be a vsv (vacuum switching valve) that sits on the r/h side of the firewall , one hose goes to a vacuum port the other goes to the idle up vacuum pot on the rear of the carb near the tappet cover (above the hot idle screw) its the one under part number 30 on the previous pic

Couple of questions if you have more info on the diagram..
27 - I presume this goes to the vac advance on the dizzy?
26 - What is this ?
23 - I have another vac point here ? - not listed
I also have another vac point near 15 - I presume this goes to the VAS for the air cond ?
Other than that I followed it all -- excellent thanks

Cool !
I tried taking photo's, but unless i actually take the carby off, there is no way i can get all the vacuum pipes and where they go, to cramped, lol

without a vin number it makes it really hard , i went through a few other diagrams and couldnt find the other vac ports you were talking about , but i know they are there.. but ... theres normlly 1 that goes to the air filter box for a thermo sensor .. not needed . any spare ones not used just block off. the one near part 15 is usually a bung
as for 27 yes vac advance , 26 is just the vac hose used to link the metal pipe to the hose that goes to the vac advance , it should go on the top prong of those 3 vacuum ports that come off the side of the carb.
if you have everything hooked up you can and it all runs sweet , thats all that matters.
cheers
Dave

Do you think you could post up some pics of your carby setup now that you are done? A couple of pics from all around the carby etc would be great.
Having the same issues trying to sort out all the hoses myself and would benefit greatly from some photos if you have them?
Cheers

Sorry - that zook's gone 2 years ago - my newby has had the G16A removed and I've inserted a G16B - Carby's are way tooooooo temperamental to get running nice (for me anyway)..
