Is there a rear diff conversion for the GVs? Or will the vit kit work on the GV?

Need my rear drums done so thought might as well upgrade to discs if I can...

Cheers

id be keen to know as well. Any one? a quick google comes up with this.
I did some research and it may be very possible to do a disc
conversion. I recommended using Suzuki Swift GTi rear calipers.
These are smaller than front GV calipers and would provide the
necessary proportioning. Also, they have a parking brake which front
GV calipers would not. BTW - GTi calipers can be had at Autozone for
$90 each.

For rotors, I recommended using ones from the front of a Suzuki
Samurai. They are cheap and plentyful, fit the 5on5.5" bolt pattern
of the GV and are the right size for the Swift caliper.

The price of the conversion kit would be approximately $200, give or
take, and would require you to purchase caliper, rotors, brake hoses
and fluid.
and some other bits and bobs.
Any one on here done it?

I've just had the axle material delivered for the first run of GV floaters. For this kit I will be looking at Hyundai hanbrake calipers. Nice, simple and heaps of them. See how it goes.

About 20-30 bucks more than the Sierra/Jimny.

Looks good, does the full brake kit come with the floater kit? Or is it extra?

The kit is the same as the Sierra/Jimny. Comes with axles, brake mounts etc. You have to supply Vit hubs and the calipers I end up using. Will suit ABS Vits too.

An update.

Just sorting axle lengths now.

Some images.

Image

You can see that this hub is the ABS version. Calipers are VW series 4 Golf. Vit handbrake etc fits up nicely. This also has the new flange bolt retaining plate to stop the bolts rotating loose (if at all).

Image

This image shows where the ABS sensor sits in the mounting brackets. A blanking plate will be provided for the now redundant mount in the diff housing.
