I have 5.12 ratio vitara ring and pinion gears fitted. I have fitted a lockrite locker and am getting a bit sick of the 'click click bang bang'.
I can get a cheap vitara rear axle (hub to hub) and am considering swapping out the whole diff centre to swap it back to an open diff. Provided the donor ratio is the same - I have read there are numerous ratios depending on year/engine/gearbox - will the rear physically fit into the Sierra pumpkin? Are all vitara rear side gears 26 spline?

OR - bigger job - muck around with shimming the locker to make it tighter. It was great when I first put it in but after 6 months has loosened up ... clicky clicky bang bang ...

No I don't have the budget to fit a chinsoong airlocker.

Won't fit.

Vitara rear 3rd is substantially bigger than sierra.
