I have a 83 LWB sierra the chassis number is SJ41102009

i was only aware of SJ410 and SJ413

The reason i ask is i am talking to Accessorie suppliers and they dont recognise SJ411
they say it must either be SJ410 or SJ413

Please shed some light.. I feel like a mushroom

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the 1.3 come out before 87? Or is that just for SWB's?

1.3L are 1988 onwards....

No, 1.3l Sierras came out in 1984. Only 1981 to early 1984 is guaranteed to be a 1l.

You've got the code a little confused mate, you're reading 1 digit to far into it I think. There are 2 different model codes, SJ410 is the more vague one.

SJxxx means the car is the Sierra body shape. A Jimny has SNxxx. The SJ410 refers to how many cylinders it has (4, obviously). SJ410 is the engines displacement in litres with the decimal place removed, so 1.0l.

The other code is a bit more specific. It focuses on the specific model rather than just what engine it has. Basically it goes...

SJ30- early model Sierra with a 2 stroke LJ50 engine, sold in Japan. Identical to a 1l besides the motor, gearbox and gear ratios.
SJ40- 1l Sierra.
SJ50- NT 1.3l sierra, though some early WTs are plated as SJ50s.
SJ70- WT 1.3l leaf sprung Sierra.
SJ80- Coil sprung 1.3l.

In suzuki world a 1 on the end of the model code = LWB. Eg SJ41 is the LWB where as SJ40 is the SWB.

You're reading 1 digit to far and the chassis number actually says SJ41-102009.

When asking for parts ask for parts for a 1983(this is important) SJ410 or SJ40. There is virtually no difference in parts between the LWB and SWB.

Thought all sierras had the number at the front, and marutis (mg410) have them at the back.
