Where do you get that from? As far as I read from the DOT website the suspension can be changed a maximum of 1/3 of the factory travel at static height. It doesn't say anything about bumpstop extensions?

Find a sierra thats legal and ill give u 50$.
Truth is, if u want a good rig off road. You need to bend the rules a little. Just make sure the mod is reversable, incase u get done.

Ride height can be changed by raising or lowering but must retain a minimum of two thirds of the original travel.
Bumpstop extensions reduce the original or modified up travel and are illegal. They are considered to be a (chassis) modification.
Go talk to your local "friendly" compliance officer at your nearest Dept Transport.

All these new laws are because of the few rat bags that go and do the 4X4 version of hooning around and ripping up the bush. Same old Same old, a few stuff it for the many.

Ummm Pity.

I was speaking in general and it is happening all over - It will be impossible to drive a Non-Standard car legally anywhere in Australia before too many years have passed.

sorry, i thought you were talking about NSW when you mentioned it & the RTA.

yeah it's getting harder and it doesn't help that all the wankers in souped up riceboxes are getting into 4wds now as they've learnt that 4wd's aren't targeted by the police like the jap imports etc.

I am sour on RTA at the moment - I have to get the seats in the Purple Peril (Almost finished) engineered to get it registered and the nearest place to me now is over 1100ks round trip.

Fair enough, must have misinterpreted it last time I read them. Sorry to the OP

in QLD you'd need a mod plate for the body lift & plenty of people run 2+2.
