Swb would help with rampover angle as I'm always getting hung up on my belly In my 98" wb lwb vit
Lwb would be better if u need to take passengers or go camping

Depends on the the intended tyre size and lift. You need to see a LWB with the same lift and tyre size as your SWB to gauge if it will be suitable. Generally the longer the wheelbase, the bigger the tyre you want to compensate for ramp over angle.

LWB all the way.

The LWB will out climb the SWB. Less weight transfer too.

Putting the calmini kit in the LWB is a bolt on once you have the right diff drop brackets.

Putting the G16B/4 speed auto in the SWB could be an epic nightmare if the SWB is carby/manual.

pretty sure diff drop brackets are the same between LWB & SWB.

Hmm, I thought we had to rework the calmini brackets between 1.6 carby and 1.6 EFI, but maybe that was for the H20 car.

I swapped and changed calmini brackets on CJ's car so many times I've lost track sorry for any confusion.

I'm having more or less the same dilemma, minus the supercharger!
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=30325
I would be very interested to hear how it goes with the S.C., from memory it looked like one of the AMR chargers in the ebay ad.

th swb is carby and manul, it also has some wiring faults in the park lights, what i was going to do was change the hole wireing harness and dash.

And fabricate the chassis mounts for the gearbox crossmember and source driveshafts and find a SWB EFI tank and modify the loom, tunnel, shifter, pedal box, swap radiators, swap the fuel system to EFI...

Or bolt the calmini kit on to the LWB and drive it and have a more capable, more practical car.

I know what I would do.

We are picking it up this weekend. Can't wait to see if it actually is drivable and the power gain is noticeable.

Shaun I reckon your best pulling the donk and mating it straight to your 5sp box.

I don't like the sounds of fabbing gearbox mounts and sourcing driveshafts. But hey, you supply the beer and we can make stuff work.

Can't wait to run the boost up a smidge! ;)BTW SWB FTW.

X2 I'm hearing ya! everything, that steve said and probably some other little bits he's forgotten. I was in the process of doing this to mine, probably would have been better off selling it and buying an efi swb

Vits don't have flex so you need to compensate with the ability to lift tyres high off the ground without falling over. I have proven this works.

Park both cars side by side and lay under them. You'll be surprised how different they are.

It makes no sense to do the maximum work to end up with the minimum gain.

It makes less than no sense to do all manner of custom chopping and changing and bootyfab to end up with a car that suzuki already built.

It makes even less than no sense to discard the AW-4.

It will take less than a day to swap the calmini kit into the LWB.

It will take roughly a week to butcher up a SWB to have a manual/EFI properly.

It will take roughly two weeks to butcher up the carby SWB to have the EFI/AW4 setup.

Niether will work as well as the LWB with the calmini kit in it.
