Hi everyone

I was lucky enough to buy the full air conditioning setup from a fellow Auszooker member and have just finished installing it, however I have come down to a single wire in the engine bay and cannot work out where to connect it.

The loom for the air conditioning has the end with all of the relays and there is a fat red cable which must connect to the battery, on the same end of the loom there is a skinny single wire which is yellow with a blue trace... mine has a small female spade connector on it. Where does it go?

We are thinking it may connect to the thermostat on the motor but may be wrong. If it does do we splice it with te existing wore to the thermostat?

Can someone please have a look under their bonnet and let me know? and possible provide a photo? There is an earth wire there which we have hooked up so it must be for something else..

Thank you!

Sounds like the wire to the second sender on rear side of themostat.
It is a overheat cut out sender,
it turns off ac and runs the condenser fan only, if engine is too hot.

I go check mine, shortly, see what colur it is/was
(I by passed mine with a switch, so I can run the fan when crawling)

It is a different type of sender,
you can't use the normal temp sender at the front of thermostat housing.

It's factory.

I can see a bolt plugging a hole on the outer side of the thermostat just above a electrical plug, maybe there is a temp sensor to be mounted in that hole?

how long is it? I am thinking it probably interfaces with the factory loom somewhere

sure its factory air? I always thought all the relays and stuff all happened behind the glovebox

Yes a sender can go in there.
Supercheap have both senders,
so they should be available in real auto shops.

yellow and blue is a sender wire according to that info

yep Christover has it, checked the factory diagrams and its a temp switch, earths out for too hot

likely you could happily go on without hooking it to anything
