Could someone be able to run me though the procedure of bleeding the brakes on a SJ70 W/T? I've searched but the internet is having a woman fit and dropping out...

I have the right hand side caliper remove because it need to be replace and now I'm ready to re-install a re-con one. It's connected to the brake line and I've bought some 'universal' DOT 4 Fluid but I now realize I need DOT 3 according to the Master Cylinder lid?

Just looking for some guidance on how to do this as it's pretty important as you'd imagine... and pics and or references and info would be hugely appreciated!

I run dot 4 in mine with no probs
u need to crack the 10mm bleed nipple
there is a bleed kit u can buy cheap or get some one to pump the pedal while u stay on the nipple but dont let no air back in and keep the cyl filled up after every few pumps.
just keep doing it till u have a decent pedal and cautiously test it and take for a drive then repeat if needed

On the caliper?
So crack the nipple, have someone pump the brakes and continue filling up the tank? on all four? then test it on a drive?
do I pump till theres no more air bubbles?

I mean this in the nicest way possible....if you need to ask how to do it you probably shouldn't be doing it. It's not the kind of thing you want to do wrong

Aha I know what you mean, but I figure I've gotta learn this at some point or another. I know the basics behind it but I just wanted to know if there's anything I should look out for haha.
I'm a boily so brakes arent't really my forte hahah

Ok this is how I have always done it.

1. Check the reservoir is full.

2. Get one person to pump the brakes and hold the pedal down.

3. Crack the nipple on the caliper

4. The brake pedal goes to the floor, get them to hold it there

5 .Do the nipple up.

6. Repeat until no air comes out of the nipple. If your brake lines are empty you'll have to check the reservoir while your doing it.

Give it a good test.
