I just paid $4,115.oo for front and back on a 89 LWB NT serria, but they had quoted $3,650.00.
I gave ARB Cairns a month to do it,but rung up a week later and got them to rebuild diffs, and put breathers on.By that time they had some sort of deal on, and threw in other shit.I got the medium price compressor fitted on the jack holder.
I fell in a poorly back filled trench...no good got dragged out by a L/C stn. wgn.
Happy with how they fitted it .
bye

I got a sat phone, they told me I could ring'em if it dash up.
For an extra $1,300.oo I got breathers, tyre repair kit, inflator, deflater, the latest Hema Cape York atlas and guide,an oil change after 1,000k,s and someone I can scream at if it dash up.
I'm pleased enough with the job; I still got those shitty fuel hoses running everywhere.

Ruthless has run them for a while & recently he had a failure with the compressor/wiring/solenoid & the thing switched it self on & burnt out.

Ruthless wrote: had my first problem with my locker last weekend the compressor had a short and when i came back to my car about 2 hours later the compressor was running it got that hot it seized and it took out the seals on the valve and then its blowen the seals out of the airlocker its self as well not real keen on pulling it all out so it can stay like that untill i feel like going wheeling again got bigger plans to get my rally sierra drivable

I have had the locker installed now for a month or so no issues as yet. I did go over the wiring and altered it where it needed it to neaten it up ect.
From my limited experience you only use the locker for about 10 - 20 mins max during a days run.

some people keep them locked all the time.
I personally prefer to drive unlocked until it needs locking. that goes for alot of people i wheel with.

Yep and if I had twin sticks (Ie. Low Range 2wd) would possibly drive 70% to 80% with just a locked rear.
Locked the whole time. How do you steer?

I have a twisted TT shifter which lets me have low2 although when I'm actually wheeling, unless I'm trying to do something specifically with only the rears spinning, then I leave it in 4wd to spread the load on the components.

Locked rear open front would be good for normal cruising through stuff then switch the front on for a hard bit.
But being in 2wd rear locked can get you stuck where it isn't necessary.
Depends on what you drive though.

Ahh true... Sorry... but forgot that they are manual lockers...
Yeah had a Auto locker in the front of my 4runner and was fine... maybe because of the power steering??

It's not how far/how hard you can steer, it's the fact that the locker forces the wheels to turn at the same rate, a locked front causes you to under steer because the outside wheel doesn't run faster than the inside, which makes one of or both the wheels break traction to continue the turn.
The auto locker shouldn't have been locked unless you were under power, and if you're under power where the locker will kick in and you are turning then you probably didn't have traction in the first place :p
