Push a screwdriver between the curved serated parts of the hand brake adjuster and push in. This will make the adjuster piece go all the way in to zero adjustment. Hold it in when you pull the screwdriver out, and the zero adjustment will stay. then put drum back on. It may also be a help to make sure the hand brake adjustment is slackened well off at the lever end. Adjust this back up when drum/drums are back on. Once things have bedded in, you will need to readjust at lever end.
thanx bro i am in the middle of doin all my bearings and break shoes im glad this thread was up because i had a same trouble getting the rear drums on but reading this cleared it right up
