ok, so im in to music with HEAPS of bass, and in my pajero, the amout of bass i have is enough to get me punched in the face by some old guy who decided he didnt like the panels on his van 2 cars in front vibrating...

SO when i bought my sierra i was very un-impressed with just havin the 2 6" speakers near my feet.

so i started looking around for a cheap (its a soft top and will probably get nicked or wet) and slim speaker that might fit behind the back seat.

i found what i was looking at JB HIFI for $100.

its an Audioline 12" speaker in a box with a grill on it and the speaker cone is virtually flat.

it fits perfectly behind the back seat, and for the price, and delivers an acceptable amount of bass..

i mounted the amp under the drivers seat and hid all the wiring in the "tunnell" to the right of the drivers seat that leads in to where the standard 6" speaker goes..

haha with a sub in your sierra you definatly should try to avoid that old guy because he can get at you easier
did you recess the sub into the back door or is it sitting flush on the interior panel?

I have concerns with the amp getting wet though? If you go topless and it rains all the water flows down the floor to the front footwell. and if you go through creeks and get stuck you might drown the amp?

its just bolted flush to the back door. nothing special. a few brackets and tek screws. turns out its the perfect size.

i dont think i'll have problems with rain as its not the lowest point of the floor, and i dont have the top off that often.

the creek crossing thing did cross my mind, but i listen to music more than i cross creeks. so i figured i'd deal with the problem when it becomes one.

and as for mounting the amp, its 2 big to go anywhere else really. i couldnt find my smaller amp so i used this 1.. & i wanted it somewhere were you couldnt see it, and was hard to get to should the car ever get broken in to. to get it out now you need 2 remove the seat and have a tek gun on hand. also where it is, i can adjust the gain and frequencey response while driving along just by putting my hand down the side of the seat.

as i said, its not as good as my pajero because thats just bloody ridiculas. but it definately sounds better than not having one. so for a speaker that fits a sierra perfectly, already mounted in a half descent box, i think it was a good buy..

oh and "lump_a_charcoal" i dont really listen to doof doof any more, i listen to DUBSTEP !!! thats more like WOMP WOMP WOMP, WA WA WA WA... lol

if you space the amp up off the floor to higher than the holes in the seat mount bulkhead that will stop any torrent of water flowing from the back to teh front getting into it, then you jsut have to worry about water leaking onto the drivers seat and dripping through

Mount it on the firewall? It's a total pain in the arse to do but keps em up nice & high.

amp and sub are in water danger, i always have water rushing in under the tailgate haha

just got to avoid any water crossings mate, or steep climbs out of water crossings

but i do love my pajero as well.

and for going away with the family, fridge, camper trailer.. clothing and food for a week. the mighty suzuki just dont cut it..

pajero = family tourer.
SUZUKI = megga fun, crazy in the mud, home made modifications, cut doors off bla bla bla...

so you see. nothing could replace my suzi..

make sure you put silicon on all the seat bolts and screw tips for the amp under the car. i only get a little bit of water coming in through the back door and gear/transfer lever boots when i go through water crossings.

yeah the slim 12" is still working ok. its in my pajero at the moment, it sounded better in my sierra as it was a smaller car, you just got to look after it is all. when you hear it over driving, back off the bass a little. thats all..

Hey guys, just saw this thread and thought i'd post some pics of mine. Got a fair few things done to my spook but i got a fair few bits and pieces and pics to go before i post it all up.

2 x 12 inch cadence 700watt in a cadence box, 1200watt panasonic 2 channel amp, kenwood 6x9's 450 watt in the tail gate. got two bits of MDF and carpeted them and put it into place. all fits well and i can only put the subs up to about half way, otherwise its kinda hard to drive. also have 6 inch kenwoods in the front with a CD player. will add more pics once i get my locker in
