A little while a go I acquired this pushie that looked like a fat boy chopper and thought it would be cool to put a motor on it. So a set about by finding a motor form eBay witch was faily easy I found a kit with every thing I needed at the same time I found it had been done once or twice before to the same style of bike. I ended up welding a couple bits of plat for engine mounts cause the motor wouldn't bolt on then I had to muck around to get the chain drive right.

What do you guys think

A first mock up

I'm thinking of extending the forks, getting a small 10-12" kids bike wheel and putting a disk brake set up on the front for that old school american chopper look what do you guys think or would that be to much

i can confidently say as a bike mechanic Armsup woopty woot!!!
on a more serious note it is very simple to make a 12-16 front wheel disc compatible, however this usualy means finding the wheel you want to use getting a disc brake hub do some mesurements using a spoke calculator (i personaly use http://www.dtswiss.com/SpokesCalc/Calculator.aspx but if you have trouble just google any spoke calculator) and build usings correct size spokes.
like any job its not hard... if you know what your doing.

EDIT: you will need a fork mount for the calliper also

i got 20" wheel for it so it is the same diameter as the back. the forks just need to be that little longer and i also have a speedo for it but the cable is to short so ill mount it half way down ill get a pic of what i mean before i weld any brackets for it

That exhaust is awsome!
I had roughly the same one on my old bike.
Got it to go pritty hard, averaged around 40kph and maxed about 65kph going to work and back every day for awhile.
The only problem i had with it was the engine mounts.
The vibrations from the engine would vibrate loose or crack and break the mounts.
Try making some rubber mounts up, lasted a little longer.
Was still going strong when i sold it.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing with engin mounts but I think it would move to much with industrial vibration elimnators and I can't think of how do it a nother way, and for the speed of my bike it tops out at 30 but cruzes at about 20. As for the exaust it's just tempery till I can find an expansion camber to suit and with a few engin mods I might be able to get some more out of it

Are these like the things called bicycles that I keep hearing about? The ones where you have to exert effort through your legs in a circular motion to overcome inertia and induce forward momentum; a job of which is accomplished much more efficiently with external motive force not consisting of muscle?
