My driver's side rear tyre rubs like a mofo on the filler guard.

I have the axle back about 20mm so I guess that's not helping. I could remove the guard but then it would rub on the filler pipe, err, not so good.

Firstly, I won't put a whacking great bumpstop in there. I'm building this thing to have good up travel with minimal lift, so big spacers won't work for me. The only solution I can think of is move the filler pipe. I will be chopping out the inner guard soon, and repairing some rust in the floor around where the filler goes through now. I figure I can re-route the pipe so it doesn't go under the chassis rail, and have it enter the top of the tank.

In the meantime if anyone has any great ideas i'd love to hear 'em.

I have seen people drill, and others and notch the frame to get filler up and out of the way. side from that I got nothing

Put a vitara tank in it - much easier to get the filler over the rail.

Removing the guard and a couple big cable ties pulling it back out of the way was enough for me for several years.

We've done that too. It helps to warm the hose with a heat gun or similar whilst cranking up the cable ties. It's not a great fix, but it's a fix.

The steel covers go in the bin early on - there is a bit of clearance between the hose and the cover and that's valuable.

I run tyres that measure almost 33" and have removed the tin guard without any dramas.

i had the same problem i took the filler pipe off at the tank end and put a big screwdrive in the little fuel tank spout and bent it back and removed the gaurd havent had another problem
