Probably asked before but what's the best engine conversion for the Sierra
I'm kinda over the 1.3 and it's lack of power on the highway and all hills
Don't get me wrong it's served me well and is kicking just fine, but for once I'd like to get somewhere in the ETA on the gps
Is there a 1600 that just bolts in? That'll give it that little bit extra?
I don't wanna spend too much if I don't have to, I'm mechanically right with doing everything, I've got a few mechanic mates if I ever got stuck.
I've done a 5k corolla on my mates zook, gave it abit more.

What's the goin price on the vitara engine?
Does that bolt straight in.
I'm pretty sure the 5k was just a replacement for one that was shot, seemed to just Bolt in but he might hav already had it set up

no it doesn't just bolt straight in but it's the closest you will find.

i heard a commodore V6 can go in, does anyone know about that?

seriously, the Carby 8v 1.6 Vitara engine IS the best option for someone not wanting to deal with an EFI 16v 1.6 Vitara engine, have a look through peoples build ups.

It'll bolt to the gearbox. However, the dizzy requires mods, along with a few other things i dont remember.

Jimbo did a write up of it i think.

My volvo smoked commodores, its not hard..

But what atari4x4 said is going tobe the easiest option. It shouldnt take you more than a day to swap engines over with basic tools and bugger all skill... If you can manage that you could swap and EFI motor in and just pay an auto elecy to wire it up..

Nagz....maybe you should take him for a spin in Cliffy's rally GTi....im sure he'll change his mind :D

I once heard a guy say once you hit 7,500rpm for the first time you'll fall in love with the engine....and he was right....this thing just keeps on pulling and pulling. If the rev limiter wasn't there it would happily rev well past 8,000rpm

My 250,000km clapped out engine in the GTi goes hard for a stock 1.3L and certainly keeps up with the Commodores
I certainly can't wait to do the conversion into the Sierra
