I am looking at doing a rear disc conversion, so I'll need to T piece the line so one line goes to each caliper (I believe?) so I'm tyring to find a T piece right size. Anyone able to tell me the line size or T piece I'm looking for?
Also best place for a flairing tool kit? I was just going to look in ripco/supercheep.

take what needs to screw into the flex hose from teh chassis and the flex hoses from the caliper to a brake shop and get new flare nuts, line and a tee from them, they will know whats the right stuff.
If you have time you are better getting some tube from em, run home and bend it to shape and mark the lengths and get the shop to cut and flare them all, they will do a better job, cheap flare tools suck and dear ones arent worth it for a one off

Ok ok the two wise ones have spoken - It won't be a one day job. I might take Monday off so those sort of places are open.
What about bearings or seals. As I have to take the rear axles out anything else I should replace while I'm there?

So near finished the rear disc setup. I'm bending the hardlines and I don't like the loop you can see in the picture. So I'm thinking of welding the hose retainer bracket to the diff where the red cross thing is. Can anyone see a problem with that or got a better idea?
The hose will still have enough room for the caliper to move in and out, and the hard lines will be sitting nice and flush with the diff with minimal bends.

Thanks royce. Shitty weld of bracket done!
Now I'm trying to remove a transfer handbrake to fit to mine. Problem is the nut holding that sucker on there is hard. Old hynes manual says I have to remove the 'stalking' using a pin punch. Problem is I have no pin punch and can't see what stalking is... I'm guessing the bolt is notched into the thread or something?
Would hitting the end of the shaft/nut with a grinder be too dodgy? Or does anyone know how this is done? Transfers still in the car so getting a good look at it is difficult.

bugger.
I'm in the sunshine coast right how. I have a very large breaker bar and pipe combo. Didn't want to push it to hard but looks like thats what it needs...

I'll go jack it up and get a good light under there see if the nut has some small indents punched into it.

Can anyone do me a favour and show me a picture or explain how this end of a 1ltr handbrake cable attaches?
I have dodged it up to fit my WT handbrake by drilling it out but I'd like to do it properly, which I'm guessing will involve buying a 1ltr handbrake.

The end in the pic is the handbrake lever end, it just has a pin go through the hole in the end (attached to the handbrake lever) and the nuts on the other side of the flexi boot lock up on a bracket
the other end goes into the handbrake drum,
I've got mine apart at the moment. I'll take a pic and post it up later for you tim.

Cheers, its the handbrake end I'm interested in as the pin holding it in was too large and it seems not right? I also couldn't get the nuts beside the flexi boot to take up any slack, was getting the shits by then and it worked so I left it. But need to come back and make it better as handbrake performance is kinda crap after adjusting at the drum correctly.
