So Ive just completed my RUF and required longer brake lines for the increase in suspension articulation. Was hard enough trying to find someone up here to make some extented lines at a descent price so I came up with a simple, effective yet cheap uni-student fix. Cost <$5!
After a bit of rum inspired thinking I attacked the original mounts on the chassie with my grindermate. Got a bit of scrap ally angle, cut it and drilled a few holes through it as well as the bumpstop mount. This is the result:
And yes for those thinking about asking it clears everything on full compression and has ample line still at full suspension droop without fouling on the tyres etc.
Enjoy Dan

No stretch what so ever. Still has a heap of slack on full droop, full lock!

300mm thats huge!! I was going to get extended brakelines but then would need springs or something to hold the extra out of the way of the tyres/tierod/bumpstops etc. Using the stock lines and just relocating the mounts the line stays short and out of the way but it still has ample length for both up/down travel. Each to their own I guess.

+1 a clean rig is a happy rig, nothing worse than having crap fall in your eyes when working underneath.

My only concern is that you used alloy brackets will be interesting to see how they stand up to 50,000km of vibration and hose movement, otherwise very tidy install, I like it.

Not unless you try and keep it clean after everyrun. Mines comes up sweet as after a mud bath with CT18. No scrubbing required! She aint a dirty girl!

Umm no I don't. Its fairly simple mod, just have a look at what you have to start with. I just cut mine off the chassis rail, made a bracket and cycled the suspension to make sure it didnt hit or touch anything under any conditions *very important*
