hey guys i have made 2 different sets of slidders b4 last set had 2 many hang up points and then the next set well just didnt like then

so i was seaching on the net and found on an american website these industral looking slidders and i was more than happy with the way they looked

im making them out of 8mm thick 100x100 angle iron and 3mm thick piping

so i am not in the process of again making another set of rock slidders
i have made 1 up which is about 80% complet just need 2 drill the holes 2 go in 2 the lower body and get meself some more 8mm plate 4 the bracket the bolts thro ya floor and i already have the 5mm plate ill put on the top 2 stop the bolts pulling ripping big holes in my floor

my pics 2 follow

So you`ve nut serted the body? the photo`s at the top have chassis & body mount`s & that could only lead to trouble..

Been thinking along these line`s for the Gv, no out riggers tho..

i was thinking that 2 weather 2 make it just body mounted or do like they have and no im not going 2 nut sert the body ill drill thro and plate the opposing side and do it that way with a sleve ova the bolt so not 2 crush the body when doing it up

I think the bolts through to the floor pan will cop a grinding(?) You could use dome head bolts with allen-key socket so they slide better...? Just a thought

well got 1 all mounted still havent drilled thro the body i recon those nut serts would b strong enough ay as just with the 2 in the floor and the 2 in the chassi hold it really strong i can jump on them and they seem fine

still need 2 tidy up the paint i was in a bit of a hurry and it wasnt quiet dry yet so a few smugges and finger prints on the paint

I'm curious about this too, isnt there a lot of flex between body and chassis, and arent this things possibly going to tear the body apart now?

in what way would they tear the body apart
they r bolted thro the floor and the other bolts r staight on 2 the chassis

and i have elongated the bolt holes that go thro the chassis so they have movement

I did similar using 6mm alloy checkerplate years ago. I was gonna use steel but it was way to heavy and massive overkill.

looks nice - i'd pump a crapload of sikaflex or silicone into the sill area before attaching to make sure mud/sand/water doesnt get trapped in the gap and rust it out.
