i made this about two years ago out of scrap and a washing machine
it got put up 3 months ago
its a (lenz 2) and a fisher and paykel smart drive motor charges 12 volts
omni directional and self governing
blades or wings are 1.2m by 42cm by 8.5cm from memory
8 amp average according to the bloke thats using it.

cool Do you know if its managing to operate as a lift based device or still only as drag based ie does it spin faster than the wind or slower? vertical axis wind turbines are awesome.

it goes faster to a certain speed and then the drag of the blades keeps it from over-speeding. i was attracted to the design as it only has one moving part.

go to the site ,click on home grown power,click on projects and information
then scroll down to lenz 2.
or go to site then forums then windmills then grimbo for lenz2.
