So, pulling things in to the tread centre is a good thing.

ye gods, ok, I give up.

Sand is always exactly the same, never changes, such a constant, the universe should take lessons.

Steve, yea, they are pretty worn, they have about 7,000k on them since new, soft as.

When you are running hard, yes, you want to float like a butterfly, but when it gets down an dirty, I back my big harsh tread as it will dig in and grip like nothing else. Longer is good, yes, wider is also good, if it were not, why are we not running bike tyres, 30" x 1" When talking of either sand or mud, you need to consider the weight of the vehicle, the type of terrain, and power the said vehicle has. When suziblu is struggling, I floor it, she throws a big rooster tail, and takes off like a cat with turps on its tail, others with "sand" smooth tyers are left for dead.

How many off road motor bikes do you see running smooth tread, when I was into off road bikes, we went for the harshest, chunkiest tyre available, for sand and mud, gravel, same deal.

Steve will always revert to ridicule when he has no real answer but just wants to try and make like he has unsurpassed knowledge, like his mechanical skills, sadly, he has no idea that tho he is learned in one area, does not mean he is excelling in all areas, and ridicule, is his way, sad really, as without the shit that comes out of his mouth, he has a fair bit to offer.

Gus, the floating bit referred to a tyre that is mono directional, running reverse, and will lift and float, no grip, very much like aquaplaning.

Carefull he might get a bigger head..
And i wouldn't say they are unsurpassed...

With regard to my fabrication/mechanical skills, Steve is a genius, he is also insanely good at sidestepping questions by offering ridicule only. This shows that he is very much lacking knowledge in so many areas.

A learned person when confronted with a question on his understanding, will try and create an argument in such a manner that all will understand and believe the argument, one of little understanding in the same situation will simply berate, belittle, and try to shift focus of his lack, by ridiculing the perpetrator of the question.

So you expect him to know everything? how about you step up and answer the questions he 'sidesteps'? i mean if your critisising his knowledge, yours must be so much better.

weaves, in that statement, I was referring to times when steve has had a go at me, I have explained my point, then asked him to prove me wrong, or prove his point, all I got was ridicule.

He seems to love giving info out, but if anyone has a differing opinion, which in my eyes is a great thing, as this is how we learn, but, all he replies with is a put down because you do not subscribe to his theory.

Enuf said anyways.

Just for the record, ^^^ That lot was ultimately the result of asking whether Suziblu had tried his front tyres backwards, in case anyone had missed the point after all the shit getting thrown around about "ridicule" "belittling" and "replying with a put down"

*sigh*

Steve.

back to the OP just in case anyone is still interested,

you all seemed to have missed the obvious answer-

he has just rotated his tyres, back to same side front, front to opposite rear, just how you're supposed to rotate tyres on a 4wd.

i guess no one told him this doesn't really work with directional tyres unless you have them flipped on the rims.

nope you did if you move the tyres around no matter what you do they will still be the same way. the tyres are all fitted on the rims in the same direction not two one way and two the other. Try what you said with some coins and some arrows on them and move them around like tyres and you will see

Try a 5 tyre rotation, this will give 2 working opposite.

A 4 tyre rotation, no, but a 5, using the spare, yes.
