How much difference is not quite as wide?? Tread shouldn't be that much of an issue. Welcome to Auszookers also!!

Are they the same diameter? If not then that is really dodgy...
But, I reckon mismatched tyres on the same axle is looking for trouble even if they are the same diameter...

yeah keep the diameter the same, but i think there's rules in Qld about mismatched tyres. Front and back can be different but left and right should be the same?

Running mismatched tyres on the same axle isn't a great idea. It's OK at a pinch (even manufacturers think this- that's why there are so many space saver spares now.) but as a long term thing it's a bad idea.
Even though the sidewall size is the same, the actual dimensions are obviously different, and I'm betting rubber compound, construction, speed and load rating are all different too.
Steve.

theres plenty of 2nd hand tyre places that you can buy a full set of slightly worn tyres for half price... if its to get you by until you can afford bigger ones then this is by far the best option.

front and back different with 4wd and hubs disengaged. if you must run diffferent size tyres, make the odd size tyre on the front differential leave the hubs in free. i dont think its so much of an issue for open differentials, but if you have a welded diff or even an autolocker you are definitely going to feel it on the back diff, or front with hubs engaged. i use 215/75s and up until a month ago my spare was a 205/75, and even that minuscule diameter difference is felt when it was driven onroad with in on the rear axle, albeit barely.

yeah 4 out of five are exactly the same diameter, and all are ATs just 1 is slightly different tread but actually isnt that much difference, and the spear is lil bit skinnier, oh and i dont have any lockers although maybe down the track, but i would say i would have new rubber by then anyway. i can get the set of 5 with rims with good offset for $300 (mates rates) , the tyres are practically brand new, but if its gunna be a hassel i might just pass them up, and just keep lookin, cheers for all the help guys much appreciated

if you need a one off tyre in a certain size try Deep Tread tyres at lambton, really cheap tyres...its next to the BP on bridges road (between kotara and broadmeadow)

are you saying that the spare is the only different one? in that case grab them, if the spare is the only diff sized one then its not an issue until you have to use it. like rusho said it would get him home having to slighlty diff tyers. perhaps even by a brand new one the same as the other four, still be a shit load cheaper then a whole brand new set.
