The engine in my Vitara is reaching the 230,000km mark and there are some small oil leaks starting to appear and the timing belt is almost due, so it would need a huge service. Over time I'm sure a few ponies have escaped out of it so I have been thinking of giving it a freshen up / rebuild.
I just wanted to get your opinions on what you think would be the better and cheaper alternative.
a) rebuild the engine in it
b) buy a second hand engine and wack it in
c) V6 conversion

Just so you know, I make nothing on them. I simply move them for a mate who runs an import yard up here. If you are keen i'll give you his details.

just so you all know, the supply of these low km front cuts and motors is getting quite thin, so sometimes there can be a few months wait.
He had one there last week, so with any luck its still there

Mine still has a fair bit of life in it yet so it's not urgent, But it would be nice to have one sitting in the shed ready to go in.
I presume the Jap spec Escudo engine has a little bit more power, Or was that just with the 8 valve versions?
