Hi all,
Just seeking some knowledge about vitara bullbars, i've tried to find it in earlier posts but no dice.
I just recently bought a bullbar off ebay for my '93 LWB but when i went to fit it yesterday there were no matching mounting points and it was obviously designed for a different model (gutted ), yet the contours of the bar and the shape of the tube were just like a tjm vitara bar. I have read that the SWB and LWB front set-ups are different but can anyone tell me how exactly? any photos would be great too (i'll put the ones i took up when my camera stops being a prick ).
Having said that, i now have a Bullbar up for sale or swap , check the 'bits for sale section in the next couple of days, i'll have photos up by then hopefully.
Cheers for any help,
redzook

SWB Vit chassis is narrower as it was designed for a 4 cylinder.
LWB Vit chassis is a lot wider as it was designed for a V6.

Look at a GV (V6) and you'll see the chassis width is the same as a LWB Vit.
Why else would otherwise almost identical (except for length) cars have different width chassis's?

Nope & there are even less bars available for GV's

Bit of of a grave dig but how different are they? Is it just a matter of cutting old Mounts off and welding them out further, or making new ones? Anyone done this before? I only ask is because a family friend had a swb and said she still had the bar and I could have it if I wanted it, figured I'd take it anyways. Cheers Tom

Mines a 93 LWB
Front is different to SWB, as in no bar across, has a box section instead.
Not sure about all models.

I bought a bullbar off a SV420 vitara. Im hoping to fit it too a 1.6 Vitara..... I havent had time to even look at it, so I might as well fish for some infor on here.
Has anyone done this? is it just a wider chassis(SV) or are the mounting points different?

a fair bit different from memory, SV's are closer to a LWB SE. you bought that ugly ODA contraption.... plastic bumper would have to be better looking
