is this a difficult job for a reasonably skilled mechanically minded person? If its not hard, are kits (I assume bearings and seals) available, and where from? SA based, but just as close to Melb as Adelaide so will need to be freighted.

i did it, took around 2-3hrs. Youll need a press and some patience- remember to remove the speedo drive gear first!! :)

I think the hardest part might even be getting the flange nuts off the inputs/outputs.

kits/parts, suppliers? Any ideas where from, eg where did you get yours?

http://locktup4x4.com.au/ these guys ship quick. I've rebuilt a 5 speed and a transfer with their kits. Not had a drama. Get a cheap press though.

I got a cheap press for doing my transfer...

"pressed' a few bearings before with a lumpy. Upgraded to a $100 press and I'll never go back. :)
