well, it was time to take the body off to do the exhaist and some more engine bracketry!
the situation was as follows......
the mrs had just ducked out to "get her nails done" at 5 this arvo,
i thought i might as well just get the zook out to the "work area" and disconnect everything ready for the weekend to lift the body off.
the original motor and gearbox were already out, the transfer case was already out etc so all i had to do was unhook the brake lines, handbrake and a few bits of wiring.
i got all of this done and lifted the front with the engine hoist to see if i had missed anything.
up she went with nothing in the way, then i thought, well how the farg am i going to get this off on the weekend, mates arent available.... ofcourse!
i looked down to see the wonderful swingset.... beautifully chewed by the dogs... perfect for the job!
i managed to wrestle it up into position and whacked a 2.5t ratchet strap on the spare wheel and wrapped it around the cross bar of the swing set. i got it up enough to clear the back wheels and then leveled it out by wrapping the remaining strap around the soft top support.
next challenge...... the engine hoist was in the way......
i spotted the dog kennel, put a bit of rhs under the body and ontop of the kennel, rested the other side on the car stand and crashed the engine hoist through the gap... sorry to the land lord for the missing brick!
lifted the rhs up with the hoist.... wheeled the chassis through with a little side shifting via a bit of pipe and now im ready for the weekend..... hoorah for pubic
bootyfab at its best!

the fridge in the garage needs regassing so is used for a storage cabinet.

so now no missus that means you just gained an extra workshop. It has a oil resistant floor(tiled/lino/polished wooden floor), a great work bench (kitchen table), a parts washer ( sink) if you are lucky an automatic parts washer ( dishwasher) a welding rod warmer ( oven) beer fridge and TONS of storage space.
You just keep meat in the fridge and cook on the BBQ. Just drink vodka and orange to scurvy at bay and you are set.

You can get an engine stand through the back door too. Bench top is handy for laying out your tools, and when you're done, the oil mops up off the lino no worries

Dear Sir/Madam,
Your house is ....ed and it is really your fault. You see when you put in a nice long and smooth bench inside the house how could you not expect me to recondition my gearbox on it? The Lino is terrible quality as only the smallest amount of brake fluid chewed through the majority of what was on the floor. Also you didnt have an inbuilt cold room close to the garage which explains the paint footprints from the fridge to outside.
Thanks for letting me inhabit this shit hole,
Pubic
