im not sure what the problem is, my ute wont idle, and blowing bulk blue smoke, i think its sucking air somewhere but cant figure it out????

spray som crc around ya base or the carb while on idle an intake maifold that will help find the leek |

tried the wd-40 cant find any fuckin air leaks, dunno if its worth replacing all the gaskets and shit, or just get another carby? |

I seem to have the common problem/s that go with these carby's... weeks now of looking?!?!? I have owned my Zook for 1 month, 3 days after buying it it has been playing up and running like shit,,, payed $250 and got it rebiult only to be told the carby must be shit???? So I bought another one,,,, but seems to be different,,, original has fuel in/out on carby itself but the one I have just bought only has the one feul inlett??? I am about to give up and put a match to my first 4x4.... or can somone point me in the right direction OR SELL me a EFI Conversion... |

Mate the efi conversion is a little more tricky than fitting a carby. And if ya get stuck I have a near new weber here |

Please provide pics, so we can see which carby you have. I would advise to replace the fuel filter, and purchase a motorbike fuel filter. Install this between fuel pump and carby. Check air filter, what condition is it in? Carbies aren't just shit, if they have been rebuilt properly. This info is for the stock aisin carb. Download the factory service manual and restore the carby to factory settings. Checking each bit etc, as best you can. If you are careful, you can pull the carby apart and use a bit of carby cleaner and an air compressor and give it a good clean (carby cleaner and blast the tiny little holes). Remember stock primary jet is 85, stock secondary is 105, these are located in the fuel bowl). The primary jet (#85) is used for the smaller diam bore (if these are wrong the car will run like crap, rich at partial throttle, and very lean at WOT). After rebuild or carby and reinstallation, check that you have no air locks in your cooling system. Check FSM to make sure all your hoses go the correct spot. Inspect all the rubber vacuum hoses. When the car is running, spray small amounts of crc, aero start or carby cleaner, around the carby and hoses etc, looking for an air leak. If leak is found, replace hose. When the car is warm, ensure choke is off. Set idle to 850 rpm, check timing, check mixture screw (if its been fiddled with). set idle to 850, check mixture screw. Allow to cool down, and set cold idle. I would advise against using webbers - (sure some people love them, like some people love other *** things) IMO Stock carby is fine EFI, anywhere inbetween is $ spent on something delaying EFI. |

Local one? Just say you want it tuned. They'll have this thing that measures the right air/fuel and makes sure everything is running great. Unless your carby is fucked, then tuning it might not do a thing. |
