My Sierra has a whine that starts around 60km/h and is deafening at 110km/h, i wanted to know what is most commonly the cause, is it the transfer case or the gearbox & which parts would be the culpret. The car has only done 165,000kms and the gearbox shifts perfectly, id be surprised if this was the cause.

Cheers,
Daniel

Thats normally the woman sitting next to you......

Or more likely it is the hardfacing has worn of some of the gears. Can be caused by corrosion OR incorrect oil.

Normally in the transfer case, best bet is to find one on here for $50 and slap it in.
