Hey guys.
The zook has AC fitted but it is not working. I know it needs to be regassed.
Questions is what does the flush and convert to R134a cost?
If it is too expensive I might try and talk my girl into a on-board air-system.

Hey guys. The zook has AC fitted but it is not working. I know it needs to be regassed. Questions is what does the flush and convert to R134a cost? If it is too expensive I might try and talk my girl into a on-board air-system.

Find some one that still has R12, I know of a couple of people that stocked up before the change over. |

shouldn't be more then $250. new dryer receiver, suck the old stuff out and regas. |

hey mate... i dont know wha they charge up there but down on the gold coast it costs about the 250 depending on the car.. what they do is -replace the receiver drier -R134a fittings -regas if you want to save money go and get the fittings, receiver drier and o'rings and fit them yourself. but remember if there is no gas then there will be a leak. make sure they add die to the system. if it was me i would convert it to an air system.. |

Had mine quoted last year, and it was a little over $300. I could'nt afford, but because I've been giving this auto elect work for years, he regassed it with an lpg mixture for next to nothing. It was good for about a day, but I've obviously got a leak somewhere in the system, as it was all gone by the next day. |

LPG in europe is the go, and in a little windy thing like a zook, Id say perfect. Very easily compressed, and so, far less power drop. The amount of gas that is in a car, unless its a full size, is very small, and IF there were a leak, and IF it were inside, it would make no matter, and the so very small amount that would leak out would be too small to form an explosive mix. |

it is very cold and does work great.. but still who would put there hand up for that.. i dont care what anyone says it is highly flammable and have seen some of the damage that can be done. the average ac system has about 500grams of gas in it.. i would say the uzi would prob be down about the 400 mark.. thats still alot of gas when let out. |

I think a lot of auto elects are doing it now. I can't see a problem with using lpg. It's a lot less volatile than people think. The conditions need to be perfect for it to actually light, which explains why with cars that have a less than perfect ignition system, lpg will either run like a dog or not at all, whilst while using petrol the car still runs fine. |
