Hey guys, figured that whilst the dollar is strong I might order some gears and a lockright from the states. Now rocky road recommends buying the lokka without couplers as it's cheaper by about $70 unless you know your side gears to be worn. I've not had much to do with diffs but mine has a slight whine around the 80km/h mark from memory. It's kinda hard to hear anything over the fuel pumps and exhaust these days  Should I outlay the extra for the couplers just in case? And yes I'd also prefer an air locker but cant justify the cost at this stage. Maybe one day down the track when the zuk is all growed up! Cheers!

if it is going in the rear diff i would definitely say with coupler, they are a
bit harsher but i recon reusing a part that is going to be worn is a bit rough.

Cheers shep. I reckon that'll be the go. There's around 230k of driving on the old gears. There would have to be some wear there I would imagine.

get a 1510 lockright for the front as well. mad kenny's car is completely stock except for lockrights and
he is nearly stoppable.

1510? Sorry, I don't know too much about lockers. What i'm looking at is the powertrax lock rights. Supposedly they fit the front as well as the rear but only in the front if you dont use the couplers. Now i'm pretty sure there is bugger all wear on front gears as it has done very little offroad work (I could be wrong tho). Went to change the front diff oil a while back and the old stuff still looked like the day it went in!

1510 is the part# of the lockright without coupler.
just be aware that every thing you here about them being noisy is true. worth it but. :D

Thanks again matey! Everything about my sierra is noisy!! Does the front locker have a drastic affect on steering when 4wd is engaged?? Heard they can get a little heavy?

i recon it is fine in the front however my first few 4WD's were G60's and 3speed fj40's and they really had strong arm steering. :D
