Hi All,

I have never had a soft top of any description before. Is it normal to have strong exhaust fumes?? Would a buggered catalitic converter give out strong exhaust fumes?? The timing and fuel mixtures etc are perfect. It had the probe thing up the pipe at the carby place.

Thanks

Rusho

That's the reason why the fumes are getting sucked into back.

I know you will think it looks poxy but, the best position for the tail pipe is kicked out to the side. Like the way mister Suzuki has them factory.

There are other ways but it will get squashed when going up steep inclines, and that is to bring tail pipe out passed bumper bars by at least 2" or 50mm.

You could try get it angled down but I think it would only reduce it not eliminate it.

David

PS being a coily you could run the pipe out the pass side with out any issues, apart from how it looks.
My son had this issues with the pong and now his pipe is running out the side similar to std but a 2" pipe.

I have the stock pipe, and get a few fumes sucked in.

My attempt will be:
replace crappy door seals
use velcro to stick the softop down, around all the clip on buttons

When I get motivated to do this, I will let you know how it works.

mainly to minimise the drafts in the car, my navigators always bitch about it being too cold and noisey.
it will also slow the ingress of water into the cab when in really deep stuff.

My fumes were reduced when I had the new exhaust and cat fitted. I did end up sticking it out the side but a little different from original, not ideal but working for now.

Looks like you have an orange gun mounted under there for tailgaters!

Yeah I just got mine plumbed out the side, it comes out as far as the bumper, and no more fumage.
