Hi guy

last weekend i did this in my zook


and it managed to 'fling' my highlift into the roof, then into the back of my head (i'm all good don't worry).

the hit into the roof has basically put a nice big crack the size and shape of the corner of the base of the high lift, my plan to repair it is to just get some devcon plastic welder that i sell at work (two part epoxy) and to patch it from the inside, then fill the crack with a small amount from the top.

has anyone had any experience repairing these blown/injection moulded tops? does anyone have any tips? and is there any other product that would be better suited?

I'd be using a fibreglass repair kit and reinforcing the crack with some fibreglass.

i was thinking about that but i wasnt sure if the fibreglass would bond properly to the plastic.

i might have to do some experimenting with a small section to see if it works. it may be a case of i use the plastic welder epoxy and fibreglass matting, but again i don't have much if any experience in these things to i can't really guess how its going to turn out.

Not sure about the repiar, but I would be strapping your highlift down, those things are heavy and your lucky it didnt hit you to hard or it could have been nasty..

if it moves, tie it down! :S

i made some simple 'U' style brackets out of three mill and mounted them on saturday.

i also noticed in the light that the crack goes nearly from front to back on the roof.

it might be time just to get a soft top.
