does anyone know where ot get them for sierra? standared rotors now have a big gouge out of them from mud and causing the car to ver to the right when braking. |

Yeah, pretty much a direct fit, as long as you use Vit calipers too. Rotors are not slotted or drilled, they are still "smooth" like the sierra ones, but they are ventilated. You may just be able to get your existing rotors machined. |

I've done the vitara brake upgrade. It is awesome to say the least  Well worth it.
You need the front calipers and rotors off a LWB vitara estate. You only need to trim the brake rotor backing plate a bit because the vit calipers are larger. Other than that they are a straight bolt on I'd suggest getting the calipers reco'd and just buying brand new rotors. |

X 2 Slotted rotors make a big difference in braking performance and if you have the spare coin go for it but Don't get cross drilled rotors. They won't last as long because they develop hairline cracks on the outer edges of the holes which eventuates with a cracked disc, Very common sight on the racetrack, They are especially prone to cracking when you hit water, mud etc. Also I'm quite sure they can't be machined where as the slotted rotors still can. |

They can, they just use a different machining tip (and charge you accordingly) |

your right. i had a look of DBA web site. am i better off swapping to vitara brakes with sloted rotors? i just had a look at the specs for the vitara and sierra rotors. All you'll need are the calipers to do the vitara conversion, so thats another $50 or so. After replacing the brakes in my Vit, I kinda wish I went slotted. Maybe because I've used them in my previous cars and I can notice the difference. Changing the 20 year old brake lines would also make the pedal feel less spongey. |

In my opinion, I think you should just get replacement slotted rotors and decent pads. It's the cheaper option, They'll do what you want them to do, clear dirt off the face and generally improve braking. If you use Vit calipers, of course you have to use vit rotors and pads. My previous car's that I done brake conversions on, I've had to replace the brake lines and the master cylinder. I'm not sure if it's the same deal with the zooks. |

Simple solution... Steer clear of mud 
It generally stuffs more than just brakes

and fun.. 
After getting out of mud, give the brakes a few stabs to make sure the pressure is still there. Just another little trick from the race track that I apply to everyday driving, when your pulling up to a set of lights, just brake slightly, let go and re-apply the brakes, notice how the pedal is firmer. Also a good idea to do that before going down a steep hill or towing. |

yup i know the double brake tap. Why does it do that? Might ring the wreckers today see if they got any lwb vit calipers.then il track down some slotted vit rotors |

Yep. They are vented and thicker than sierra ones |

Yep thats where I got mine from. Cant remember exact price but I was able to get 2x vit calipers, get them fully reco'd by a brake place, get brand new rotors and pads, all for about $450 all up
