Hi,

My brother has a 2006 Grand Vitara and all of a sudden there was a rapid clicking coming from the glovebox area. I traced it down to the 4WD Module. Whenever you are accelerating the clicking happens and gets faster, if your coasting it is silent. I have noticed too the car has a misfire when the module is clicking.

I have checked all the obvious things. The only fault codes are for the misfire and sometimes after clearing the codes it will get a P1774

Anybody have any ideas what could be causing this?

Turns out the misfire was causing the 4WD Module to continually restart. Fixing the misfire with 4 new coils has resolved the issue. Never seen that before
