I am not asking questions this time I am sharing learnt knowledge.
On my build to-do list was to remove the heater and clean it out.
I searched up on how to get the thing out and found a short You tube clip showing you how to clean the heater out without having to remove it.
Basically I got a 33mm hole saw and a 35mm rubber plug - similar to what you find in the floor pan drain points and drilled a hole in the passenger side of the heater box above the cross line where the heater core sits. I can now plug the vacuum in, suck all the crap out and put the plug in - job done in less than half an hour.
I also wanted to prevent more crap going in. A fellow Suzuki builder Jezzer had a cover over his air intake behind the bonnet below the wipers and I asked him where he got it. He gave me the link to a company in Greece who makes them. The cost of the 2 items was 118 euros including freight to NZ.
https://www.fiberster.comThey also make all sorts of bits and I also purchased a centre console with cup holders which sits perfectly around the handbrake. It has taken a while for them to make and send but glad it is done - they make to order. I did think about door pockets with cup holders from them but my doors need a bit of force to close them which would mean coffee everywhere
I cleaned out as much crap from the vent as I could and there was a lot of leaves and dirt. I used a flexi pickup tool for the big bits a vacuums and then compressed air to blow the sh*t all over the place.
Once cleaned lined up drilled holes and mounted
I think it looks the part - thanks Jezzer for the information
