There's an Australian engineer/automotive journalist with a YouTube channel that did a piece on why snorkels don't work with no scientific data to back it up - I watched it a few days ago, and then I came across this - this is by no means "real world" testing, but, 10% more power is 10% more power. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfwJGGd ... &index=140Only AUD$11,000, which is a bit more than I can afford, and then there's the warranty coverage that I'm going to be discarding, and can the auto tranny handle the power - ohh, so many questions...

My guess would be the warranty is mostly gone, I doubt they would cover the engine, gearbox, or any of the drive line. I believe the auto could handle it. Be great for towing, but the box isn't quick enough and doesn't have enough gears to really make use of it. It would probably be brilliant in a manual, absolutely brilliant but then would it be 11k brilliant, I think for that kind of money someone could possibly put a 2lt engine in there, possibly with a 5 speed gear box, now that would be worth 11k. They could probably even bore out the current engine for less, but that does raise an issue. I've had two gen 3 jimny's over the years and I always thought they needed a little extra power, not a lot, but just a bit. So going from 63kw in them to a 75kw in the new gen 4, why do I need more power then that? It's already a massive upgrade from the old model, treat a gen 4 like a gen 3 and be happy they got something right.

I find your comment quite interesting, just prior to finding this kit, I had been discussing my JimnyXL with a friend and my comment had been "this would have been perfect with a J20 in it.

I'd be a lot happier with mine if they just put a 5 speed auto box in it, leave the power the same and just give it a better ability to use it. I'd have ditched the L, 2, D and the overdrive button and used a 5 speed box with sequential sports feature. Even a 4 speed box that you could choose the gears in would be better in a lit of situations then letting the gear box decide.

What makes you think the auto can handle it? It can’t handle a G13bb
