HEY GUYS,
SO AS OF LAST NIGHT I DID A EF/EL FALCON ALTENATOR UPGRADE ON MY G13BGTI CONVERTED SIERRA. NOW, I STARTED IT AND IT RUNS OK, BUT THE ALTERNATOR DOENST OUTPUT CHARGE EVEN TO THE REAR POS+ TERMINAL ON THE ALTERNATOR
I INSTALLED THE OEX MXA325 ALTERNATOR WITH THE 2-PIN IR49 PLUG, AND I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO WIRE IT UP WITH MY OLD GTI ALT WIRING, BUT THE OLD GTI ALTERNATOR WAS RUNNING A 3 PIN MINI DENSO PLUG WITH A RED, A GREEN, AND A BLUE.

AND THIS IS THE NEW PLUG INTO THE FALCON ALT

I CURRENTLY HAVE THE BLUE[S] FROM THE OLD WIRING CONNECTED TO THE WHITE[S] ON THE NEW PLUG
AND THE RED[L] CONNECTED TO THE RED[L].
THE GREEN IS IGNITION I BELIVE, AS WHEN IGNITION IS TURENED ON POWER GOES THROUGH IT, AND IT IS CURRENLY NOT CONNECTED TO ANYTHING JUST HEAT SHRUNK UP
PLEASE HELP! WHAT DO I DO ANY WHY IS IT NOT OUTPUTTING POWER

Hey guys,
Never mind the origin post, as I have now fixed it by swapping some wires and connecting green ign wire to the battery, after testing it in a ground to see wether it was pos or neg.

Now I have to an issue where it’s charging at 15-15.1V and I belive that’s a tad high.
Any idea what’s causing this and how to fix it? Bought the alternator new from telco maybe 4 days ago, so the alt itself SHOULDNT be the problem… hopefully.

But yea any advice on this woudl be great

Red / Blue / Green on the GTi alternator plug are not the factory wiring colors
Should be
White - Battery
White / red - light
Blue / white - ignition .

I’d be checking how the connections are made back to the factory loom
Logic say that if you have the light circuit wired up correctly and you excite the alternator with a switched +12v circuit it should output when spun by the engine .
Or the alternator is faulty .
My preferce would to have a switched 12v to excite the alternator rather than a permanent 12v
