Hi guys, Ive recently done the g16b swap in my sj50 ute however am unable to get the thing started (have no spark at the plugs when cranking it over). I have gone over all the wiring 3 times and checked all the earths however can't seem to find the issue. With ignition on I have taken voltage readings from all the points on each C1 and C2 and have listed on the table below. If anyone has any wisdom for me that would be much appreciated. (Not the best at Auto electrical stuff!!!!)

The G16b was out of a vitara with 5 pin AFM if that will help. I used Warbirds guide along with the 5 pin afm vitara wiring diagram to clean up the loom and did continuity checks on every wire before plugging it back in (all was good).

First thought - it doesn't matter what voltages you see on ignition on, only when cranking.

Be sure you're not turning the ECU/ignition feed off whilst you're cranking the engine.

One way to check this quickly is to have the car on ignition on and start the engine via powering the starter solenoid remotely (not via the key) to see if it runs.

What's the voltage at the coil positive terminal?

Do you have a tach signal on the dash when cranking ?

Also -

Finish the conversion. Wire the CEL and VSS so you can observe what the computer is telling you (well the VSS won't come into play yet, but it will as soon as you start driving the car.

Does the fuel pump prime? This is critical as without a CEL fitted it's the only obvious indication the ECU is powering up. Does the fuel pump run whilst the car is cranking?

I also think the description of "to" XXX is misleading and might be confusing you. The ECU typically receives a signal from the sensor.

Are you reading these voltages at the plug with the plug seated in the ECU at ignition on?
