Post subject:  2010 Jimny SN413 - Wiring Diagrams - AC fan relay

Hi,
I am currently looking for the AC condenser fan relay and wiring.
It is NOT in the engine bay fuse box as the older diagrams show, although there is a slot (middle relay) unfilled.
It is NOT the relay mounted on the end of the under dash fuse panel. I don't know of any other relays loitering under the bonnet or dash.

I do have some wiring diagrams gathered from online sources, but they are applicable to earlier model Jimnys when Suzuki used paper manuals. Mostly these get me out of trouble but I'm wondering if anyone has an Aussie 2010 wiring manual or near year copy?
Or has tried the subscription style manuals, purportedly to suit the 2010 (and most other models)? It seems to me they may be generic in that they appear to cover many years in the one document, and wiring wise, that is a big issue as the wiring colours change as well as equipment levels.
Thanks

There are several variants or as Suzuki calls them "Types" of Jimny, if you PM me the chassis number I'll see what I can dig up.

Hi Forem, PM sent, thanks.
Yes, designations SN413/JB43V and the like are almost useless in tracking down information.
My similar fuse box has fuel pump (firewall end), space, then main relay (at least pulling each relay does what function you would expect).
But no AC fan relay. Only other "normal" relay I can see, is under the dash attached to that fuse box, plus a space for another. It is not the AC fan relay. I doubt the ECU output would be used to run the fan (and I guess the AC clutch) as they are such high power items.
Regards

I got the PM, I'll go search when I have a little more time.

On my 98 GV, the ECU controls both the fan and the compressor, and it's highly likely that the Jimny ECU does it the same way - the relays are essentially switches that allow a low power device (the ECU) to control a high power device (the fan) - the ECU only needs to supply enough power to turn the relay on, not to power the fan.

Hopefully these should match your Jimny, they are the latest I have access to (from xx300001 onwards)

The image above shows the connector for the compressor & clutch relays as B08 and you'll see the relay coils are in fact connected to the ECU, so the ECU does control the compressor & fan

The second image shows the location of the B08 connector.

Thanks Fordem, I will check tomorrow. I can see there is a pair of relays on as common plug - and I think I know where they are now. Mounted on the side of the fuse box (well they were once but are now hanging under mine as the clip is broken); I thought they were for the front hub engage/disengage solenoid system, but looks suspiciously like I was wrong (again)!! Will reply tomorrow.

I just took a quick peep at the front hub system in the diagram - as I suspected, it doesn't use any relays, the control VSVs are driven directly by the 4WD controller. If what you're looking at has vacuum lines connected to it, those will be the front hub VSVs.

Yes you are correct. And the relays originally side mounted on the engine fuse box (I had forgotten them) are for the AC system, I just proved it.
Wiring colours are very close to mine, certainly enough to sort out what I want.
Found quite a bit of corrosion on the relay terminals too, so glad I looked.
Thanks again!!

Post subject:  Re: 2010 Jimny SN413 - Wiring Diagrams - Wipers

Having solved the A/C condenser fan problem, I have been hit with a new electrical issue. My wipers/washers suddenly stopped working, and of course it has been pissing doen in Brisbane.
Found the fuse had blown and replaced that. It did not blow again but no action from the wipers. What a great place to put the fuse box Mr Suzuki!
I did find what caused the fuse to blow - the rear washer pump cable was disconnected from the pump and touched the exhaust, cooking the connector and positive wire. Typical Suzuki, positive goes to the device whenever ignition is on, and control is by switching the negative. So this was repaired.
I have a wiring diagram for an earlier model Jimny, which seems close with pinouts and wire colours, so I started to check. A really easy job to stand on your head under the dash and access the rear of the fuse box - NOT.
The load side of the fuse is shown as going to pin 17 (and other places) of connector G98 (wide flat 22 pin white connector) under the steering column near to the fuse box #2.

Only a very short distance. However, it seems it must have a break in that wire, as no power gets to pin 17. I jumpered a 12V supply to pin 17, and all seems to work ok. Maybe the diagram I have is not indicative of this model? I don't want to make the jumper permanent without confirmation there is nothing in the wiring path, like another switch or whatever. Or I have missed something!
Anyone got a 2010 wiring diagram???

Torry, if you want some help, you better provide the detail or did you sort it?

I solved the riddle of the wiper wiring - I was looking at the wrong fuse - what a DH!!! Wasted two days of spare time chasing a ghost.
Not helped by the Suzuki brain dead design around the location of the fuse box, and the lack of simple ID numbers on the block. How hard can it be???
Is the Mk4 any better? I suspect not, in keeping with Suzuki doing a cosmetic design change wrapped around 20+ year design, other than changes forced by modern regulations.
