There is no factory "deck height" as far as i am aware.

the stats consist of bore and stroke and that is it.

What are you trying to work out?

You can work out compression ratio from swept volume to unswept volume , but you will also need to know the cc capacity of the chamber in the cylinder head to work this out. I have all the gear to work out this if you are near brisbane. i made a rig to test and work out compression ratios for turbo engines.

I'm building a new engine for my Fiat 850 Sports coupe track car. It has a 903cc supercharged engine at the moment and I'm building a new one with the Fiat block and the cylinder head off an F10a installed backwards. Fiat revolves anti-clockwise. I have had the crankshaft offset ground to take the Suzuki conrods and I'm about to send the block off to have the bore machined to take the Suzuki pistons. It's a slight bore increase. The difference in piston pin height and conrod length leaves the piston down about 4mm so the block has to be decked as well. I'm aiming for the same deck height as the stock engine and will accept that compression ratio. I'm using the same supercharger at 10psi of boost.
I have a fair bit of alloy welding to do on the head so it will be machined as well. If I can't find some figures I will just have a neutral deck height. I should have measured the stock engine when I pulled it down.

Hi Mate,

Just wanted to say that I like hearing about modifications like this and that I can reverse my thinking as well. You may not realize and it may or may not help you but I will state it anyway in case it helps: F8A heads are very similar to F10A heads except the main difference is the cam enters from the rear instead of from the front. Looking at the parts all of these years on, it looks like SUZUKI decided that changing the cam with the motor still in the car was a better option than removing the head or motor with the firewall being the blocker.

No idea if the F8A cam will fit the F10A head and have the sprocket mount in the right location for you but maybe it does?

Hope this helps

I've already got an F10 head. It's a rear engined car and the head is being fitted backwards, I have to fit the sprocket on the other end of the camshaft. The main reason for going for the F10 head is to convert from OHV to an overhead cam and get rid of the siamesed inlet ports with the Fiat head. The Suzuki pistons and conrods are about 2/3rds the weight of the Fiat items is a bonus. Any major changes will be an engine out job anyway.
