Back in the group after a long vacation.. Yes I've done the searches.. Has anyone here done a Honda K20 or K24 swap into X-90 (or early Vitara same chassis setup). The little G16B just isn't cutting it anymore & the Honda power plant looks like it could be great for the job.. Any info, pics or links would be great..

What gearbox were you thinking of using? there are no off the shelf adapters from k series to vitara box and remember that vitara is a transfer that's attached to the gearbox

There are many, many engines that would be great for the job, including a bunch made by suzuki which already fit to Vitara gearboxes.
Any engine conversion into a Suzuki is only ever going to be as good as the gearbox you have to use. If the engine you choose forces you to change gearbox AND transfer case, thats quite a big conversion.

Brenno..Was hoping to keep the same gearbox.. My understanding is they only change the bellhousing for the V6 model(Please correct me if I'm wrong) Gwagonsteve what other options that can give me 200hp easy in a 4 cylinder? Interested to hear your thoughts..

The G series Vitara/X-90 uses a cable clutch, the J and H series use a hydraulic clutch, so no, the bell housings are not interchangeable. You'll want a hydraulic clutch to deal with the required clamping force for 200hp.
you didn't specify you needed a 200hp motor for whatever job it is you need to do. That being the case, the rest of the driveline won't cope (neither will the handling) so rather than focusing on the motor, start with the brief for the car and the right motor might reveal itself.
There's plenty of ways to make 200hpIt's been done with boosted G16's, but again, start with the gearbox and transfer case. (TBH I'd be saying start with the back diff, but I digress.
If the right transfer is hilux, then the gearbox might best be hilux too. Therefore, a lightly boosted 3RZ or 3SGTE would be ideal. No adapters, strong aftermarket, makes you power goals easily.
Don't want boost? 3SGE Beams - 197hp stock, bolts to a gearbox and transfer that will take the power, no adapters, off the shelf parts.
Nissan transfer? Nissan gearbox and SR20. Again, don't want boost? SR20VE, 204hp.
While your paying more for the engine, you're not making bellhousing/clutch adapters, sump etc only to find the suzuki gearbox and transfer weren't strong enough.
K20/K24, from what I've seen are not very easy motors to work with which creates a huge aftermarket which feeds the hype which feeds the aftermarket. I'd much rather bolt together a factory combination of parts.
In any case, what's the application? the SWB vitara chassis is such an evil handling thing I can't imagine what one would be like with 200hp. I'd be grafting in a GV rear suspension setup so you can have some control over the roll centre as a huge priority.
